After their classroom lessons, the children at 4Life Education eagerly participate in one of their favorite hands-on activities – caring for the school’s green vegetable garden.
In this lovely garden, the children have the opportunity to take part in every stage of the growing process. From preparing and loosening the soil, transplanting young seedlings, watering plants, and removing weeds to caring for and observing the growth of each vegetable bed every day, every task provides valuable and enjoyable real-life experiences.
Under the guidance of their teachers, the children not only learn how to care for plants but also discover that growing healthy vegetables requires patience, dedication, and love. Watching the plants develop new leaves and grow stronger each day brings excitement and a sense of achievement to the children.
The joy becomes even greater during harvest season. With their own little hands, the children proudly pick fresh vegetables that they have helped nurture and care for. This rewarding experience helps them appreciate the value of hard work, understand the importance of healthy food, and develop awareness of protecting the environment around them.
Through gardening activities, children learn through direct experience rather than simply observing pictures or videos. They have opportunities to explore different types of vegetables, identify leafy vegetables, root vegetables, and fruit-bearing plants, and gain a deeper understanding of the natural growth cycle of plants.
